Adam Blackstone Musical Director for 2015 BET Honors

The 2015 BET Honors recognized Kanye West, Usher Raymond, Phylicia Rashad, John W. Thompson, and Dr. Johnetta Betsch Cole. For their outstanding work in the areas of entertainment, technology & business, and education, BET highlighted these men and women with special presentations and musical tributes.

BASSic Black Entertainment CEO, Adam Blackstone, served as musical director for the event. Performers included national recording artists Patti LaBelle, Mary J. Blige, Charlie Wilson, Trey Songz, Neyo, and K. Michelle. There was only one person BET entrusted with their vision to properly celebrate their honorees and ensure these artists received a 5-Star production! Which such an amazing list of artists lined up to perform, Adam Blackstone needed a powerhouse band to represent the BASSic Black Entertainment brand well! Some of these musicians have toured with the likes of Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Justin Timberlake to name a few.

 

The 2015 BET Honors airs on BET Monday Feb. 23, 2015 9p/8c.

Nicki Minaj Performs at Bud Light Super Bowl Party

Nicki Minaj kicked off Super Bowl Weekend at The Bud Light “House of Whatever” Party in Phoeniz, AZ!

The “Super Bass” rapper performed a melody of her hits for crowd on-lookers, including her verses in such hits as “I Woke Up Like This” and “Bang Bang”. With BASSic Black Entertainment CEO, Adam Blackstone, as her Musical Director, she ensured that her performance would set the Super Bowl XLIX off right!!

Jill Scott Honored at Essence’s 2015 Black Women in Music

For the past 5 years, Essence has honored Black Women who are making major waves in the music industry and also in their communities. This year’s honoree was none other than Ms. Jill Scott.

“Jill Scott is the quintessential ESSENCE woman,” says ESSENCE Editor-in-Chief Vanessa K. DeLuca. “Like many of the female artists who inspired her – she has touched the collective soul of women across generations.”

This year’s celebration featured performances by Lianne La Havas, Brandy, MC Lyte, and the legendary Chaka Khan. BASSic Black Entertainment CEO, Adam Blackstone, served as Musical Director for all the performers for the evening. Full band and background vocalists provided by BASSic Black Entertainment.

Ed Sheeran’s All-Star Collaboration for The 57th Annual Grammy Awards

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards were filled with celebrities and performers, some of which are clients of BASSic Black Entertainment!!

CEO, Adam Blackstone, took to the Grammy stage as Musical Director for Ed Sheeran’s performance of “Thinking Out Loud” with the legendary Herbie Hancock, John Mayer, and ?uestlove of The Roots. Unofficially awarded the title of “Most Preposterously Talented Supergroup Backing Band” by OkayPlayer.com, this collaboration was a pleasant surprise for Grammy viewers and music lovers alike.

With the help of Questlove on drums, John Mayer on lead guitar, Herbie Hancock on piano, and the legendary Adam Blackstone on bass, Sheeran tore through his heartache anthem “Thinking Out Loud” and made a few fans at the OKP office as a result.

This Thursday, ahead of GRAMMY weekend—ESSENCE will honor singer-songwriter Jill Scott at the 6th Annual Black Women in Music event. The celebration will feature live performances by Chaka Khan, Brandy, Lianne La Havas and MC Lyte. Each performer’s show will feature Music Direction from New Jersey native Adam Blackstone—who says honoree Jill Scott played a huge role in his career by giving him his big break.

Performing with Ariana Grande, Jessie J, and Nicki Minaj for their smash hit “Bang Bang”, Adam ensured this performance was one that would have the whole audience on their feet! With a full BBE band, this performance was one of the highlights of the night!

TeamBBE also did the live show programming for Nicki Minaj’s performance of her new single “Bed of Lies” w/ Skylar Grey and also Lil’ Wayne’s performance of “Start A Fire” w/ Christina Millian!

Some of the biggest names in music, TV, and film all came together to Stand Up for a major cause. The fight to end cancer! The “Stand Up To Cancer” organization held their annual telethon Sept. 5, 2014 to raise money for cancer research!

Once again, The Roots will shut down Benjamin Franklin parkway to bring the good folks of Philadelphia a star-studded artist line up!! With performances by Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Hudson, and Nicki Minaj, Philly natives are sure in for a treat! BASSic Black Entertainment CEO, Adam Blackstone teams up with Questlove (The Roots) to serve as Musical Director for the event.

If you can’t get to Philly make sure you tune in to VH1 or Palladia network TV stations at 8pm EST to catch the boss in action!
