The 2016 BET Awards provided many surprise performances and appearances by some of today’s HOTTEST celebrities!!

From Beyonce’ and Kendrick Lamar’s surprise performance of “Freedom”, to Stevie Wonder and Sheila E paying tribute to our most recent fallen star, Prince. The night’s performances were electrifying and left the audience on their feet from beginning to end.

Adam Blackstone, CEO of BASSic Black Entertainment, provided the Musical Direction for this years awards show. The BBE band, equipped with a few of today’s top musicians and background vocalists, created an unmistakable sound for all the performers and arrangements for the opening host sketch.

What started as a reunion concert to honor the late, great Christopher Wallace, AKA Notorious B.I.G., turned into an nation-wide TOUR by popular demand!

CEO of Bad Boy Entertainment, Sean “Diddy” Combs, decided to bring all of the Bad Boy family back together for a reunion concert honoring, what would have been, BIGGIE’s 44th Birthday. Mase, Faith Evans, 112, Total, Lil’ Kim, The Lox and more all gathered on ONE stage in Brooklyn at Barclay’s Center. Fans were TOO hype about these collab performances so tickets sold out FAST! A second show was added which sold out within minutes!!

Singer/Songwriter performed her latest music on Saturday night’s episode of Saturday Night Live! Her recently released song “In Common” went over well among audience-goers. She also debuted her newest song “Hallelujah”

Gospel Artist and Worship Leader John Gray sought out the best of the best in the music industry for his first Live Recording!

The John Gray Experience Live Recording set the tone for a new wave of gospel music. John Gray currently serves as the Associate Pastor at Lakewood Church in Houston, TX under the director of Pastor Joel Osteen. When it came time for him to set his vision to music there was an elite group of professionals he trusted. Among them was none other than Adam Blackstone, Musical Director to the stars. Also providing musical contributions were famed producer Aaron Lindsey, former Tonight Show musician and producer, Teddy Campbell, and also Rachel James, CEO of Bridge Hooks & Stuff Ent.

The night was full of non-stop worship and praise set to music, carefully programmed by Adam and the rest of the team, to provide the appropriate atmostphere. Check out a fan’s snippet video of the energy in the room that night!

 

The 2016 BET Honors recognized Lee Daniels, Patti LaBelle, L.A. Reid, Mellody Hobson, and Eric Holder for the outstanding work in music, film, and community activism. Hosted by Arsenio Hall, the show paid tribute to those who’s work has made a huge impact in our community.

BET has once again entrusted BASSic Black Entertainment CEO, Adam Blackstone, to direct the musical aspect of the show. As in years past, Adam has put together an All-Star band of musicians and singers to properly pay tribute to all of the honorees.
